Sail Away Home

The sun was warm glowing through the portal above her bed. She could hear the sea gulls outside and feel the gentle rock of the ocean as the boat swayed and bobbed with the wind. Armondo lay next to her. His breathing, still slow and rhythmic in peaceful slumber made him even more handsome in a gentle, more venerable way. She gazed upon him with adoring eyes. She closed her eyes and smiled reliving last night's activities. They were so good together. He seemed to be a magician when it came to knowing how to please her. This scared her when they first met. It made her wonder about his past loves and how he came to be this way. Then she just accepted that he was hers now and let herself go and enjoy the pleasures she had dreamed about and yearned for. She reminisced about lovers from the past and realized how none of them could compare to the bliss she now had found with Armondo. She gave a little silent prayer and was content. She had never felt so completely alive and yet content at the same time.

He stirred and woke to see her on bended elbow, eyes closed, smiling. He reached up and gently caressed her hair. Good morning love, he said with a knowing smile and that heavenly Italian accent. He kissed her lips ever so gently and rolled out to start the day. She laid back and traced her lips with her finger, his kiss lingering in her mind. She loved his Italian accent and when they spoke Italian to one another it made her heart race. Outside she heard him call out to the dolphins that had been swimming with them for the last leg of their journey. Soon they would be on the Amalfi coast. Gleaming white buildings, golden church spires cascading down the rocky hillsides contrasted against azure blue waters. It was his home and his arrival was highly anticipated by a very large family. They all wanted to meet this American girl that had captured their beloved son's heart…
