Snippet of time

She drummed her fingers on the dash board of the truck to the rhythm of dance music playing on the radio. Her father was smiling and humming along. The long country road stretched out before them with the warm sunshine pouring through the windows. The fragrant spring air circulated through the truck with the essence of honeysuckle covering the miles of fencing lining the roadside pastures. “It smells like home Dad,” said Elizabeth. “Yes dear” he replied, taking in a slow deep breath and letting it out slowly. “It reminds me of when I met your mother. We were only 17 and it was love at first sight, at least for me. She wore a sprig of honeysuckle in her hair on our first date." His lips curved into a smile and his dreamy look made him look younger.
